Avashya Foundation Honours the Families of India's Martyrs

In collaboration with Sri Shanmukhananda Fine Arts & Sangeetha Sabha and the Indian Army, the initiative honoured the families of 80 Armed Forces personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in service of the nation.

On the occasion of India's 80th Independence Day, Avashya Foundation, the CSR arm of Allcargo Group, joined hands with Sri Shanmukhananda Fine Arts & Sangeetha Sabha in a solemn tribute to the families of India's fallen Armed Forces personnel. The event, held at Mumbai's iconic Shanmukhananda Hall, honoured the widows and next-of-kin of 80 martyrs from the Army, Navy and Air Force who laid down their lives in the service of the nation.

Organised in collaboration with the Indian Army's Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa Area Headquarters, the ceremony recognised personnel who made the supreme sacrifice during combat operations across various theatres along the Line of Control (LoC) and the Line of Actual Control (LAC). As part of the initiative, each family was presented with a financial solatium of ₹2.5 lakh and commemorative honours in recognition of their loved ones' service and sacrifice.

Committed to nation-building and community welfare, Avashya Foundation supported the families of 10 martyrs as part of this meaningful initiative. This contribution sought to honour not only the bravery of the soldiers but also the resilience of the families who continue to carry forward their legacy.

While the nation celebrates the courage of its Armed Forces, it is often their families who bear the lifelong impact of that sacrifice. Parents who live with memories and loss, spouses who shoulder responsibilities with remarkable strength, and children who grow up inspired by a legacy of service exemplify the enduring spirit behind every soldier's commitment to the nation. The ceremony recognised these families and reaffirmed society's collective responsibility to support them with dignity, respect and meaningful action.

The event was graced by senior Indian Army dignitaries, including Lieutenant General D. S. Kushwah, General Officer Commanding, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa Area, and Major General Salil Seth, Chief of Staff, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa Area. Their presence underscored the Armed Forces' continued commitment to the welfare of veterans and their families and lent added significance to the occasion.

Representing Allcargo Group at the ceremony were Jatin Chokshi, Managing Director, Transindia Real Estate Limited, and Deepak Shetty, Director, Allcargo Global, who joined fellow attendees in paying homage to the fallen heroes and their families.

The programme brought together veteran families, military leaders, community representatives and supporters in a moving celebration of courage, service and patriotism. Through heartfelt interactions and stories of sacrifice, the gathering served as a poignant reminder that gratitude towards those who safeguard the nation must extend beyond remembrance to sustained support and meaningful engagement.

As India enters its 81st year of freedom, the ceremony stood as a powerful reminder that the nation's strength rests not only on the courage of those who serve at its borders, but also on the resilience of the families who stand behind them.
